"Rockford Living" Online

One of the big reasons behind Rockford's success, is the support given to local businesses by the community.  The Rockford Living Magazine is a great resource for knowing all the community has to offer.    You'll find phone numbers, addresses and information for everything from churches to dentists; as well as a directory for businesses and parks.   And if you don't have your hard copy handy, you can also find Rockford Living online.

Buy Local and Keep Money in the Community

I don't know about you, but any time I can support a local business I do.  Did you know that if $100 is spent at a locally owned business $68 stays here in the community.  If you spend $100 at a non locally owned business only $43 stays here in the community.  I for one want to see Grand Rapids and surrounding community businesses thrive!  Recently I had to purchase a birthday present for a 3 year old girl.  I came across a fabulous website with just darling purses and surprise!  The owner of the site lives in Rockford and makes the bags in her design studio at her house.  She offers free shipping too!  www.stinkincutebags.com  Let's join forces and support our local businesses!

Rockford Goodwill store to open May 21st

Rockford Goodwill store to open May 21st

The new Rockford Goodwill store at Belmont and 10 Mile Road in Plainfield Township is now slated for a May 21st opening.  A sign at the construction site touts the new date.

Goodwill broke ground on the project last November.

The resale store will be LEED-certified which is a distinction only two other stores carry in Michigan.

Goodwill leaders say the new store will be located in an area where a bulk of the donations come from.

It will be the 15th Goodwill store in greater Grand Rapids.
