Grand Rapids Beer City USA 2013 - the time to vote is now!

Grand Rapids Beer City USA 2013 - the time to vote is now!

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- There is no question 2012 was great year for Grand Rapids and beer.

A record number of breweries opened, including Eastown’s Harmony, Mitten Brewing, and Grand Rapids Brewing Company as well as both Pike 51 and White Flame in Hudsonville, Perrin in Comstock Park and Rockford Brewing Company. Additionally, Grand Rapid’s most successful brewery, Founders, celebrated their 15 year anniversary in style which included the release of their 15% Bolt Cutter Barleywine. But perhaps the defining moment in 2012 was the nomination and securing of the title Beer City USA in a tied vote along with previous year victors Asheville, North Carolina.

Grabbin' A Bite Reviews Arnie's Old Mill in Rockford

Review of Arnie's Old Mill by Mike and Jane of Grabbin' A Bite

We hadn't planned on reviewing any chain restaurants, but we decided we just had to include Arnie's Bakery and Restaurants because it is just local; with only four restaurants in the Kent County area, and of course our favorite one is the Arnie's Old Mill at Squires Street Square in Rockford.

If you are not from the area then you probably haven't heard of Arnie's Bakery & Restaurants.

Rockford Brewery Has New Rock Hard Cider

Rockford Brewery Has New Rock Hard Cider

If you like Hard Cider, you might want to stop by Rockford Brewery. The business, located on Bridge St., released its semi-dry Rock Hard Cider over the weekend. It's made with a local blend of organic Michigan heirloom apples, and is gluten-free. So far, the reviews are pretty good.
