Woman electrocuted near Rockford
News

COURTLAND TWP., Mich. (WZZM) - The Kent County Sheriff's Department has identified the woman who unintentionally electrocuted herself while landscaping in her yard late Monday night.

Stephanie Trudeau, 41, was found by a neighbor around 6 a.m. Tuesday in the 7600 block of Hessler Drive NE, that's near Myers Lake.

Authorities believe Trudeau might have slipped while holding a hand-made electrical cord with an attached light bulb in one hand and a piece of steel in the other.

Investigators say she was walking barefoot down a steep, damp hill. The steel and wire connected, which caused Trudeau's accidental electrocution on the wet ground.

Her death is being ruled accidental.
