Rockford grad is top U.S. finisher in Boston Marathon
BOSTON, Mass. (WZZM) -- A Rockford High School graduate was the top American runner in the 2012 Boston Marathon.
Jason Hartmann, 31, finished the race fourth overall with a time of two hours, 14 minutes and 31 seconds.
The race was won by Kenyan Wesley Korir with a time of 2 hours, 12 minutes, 40 seconds.
One of Hartmann's high school teammates was Olympian Dathan Ritzenhein. Hartmann was also the top American finisher in the 2010 Chicago Marathon.
Hartmann now lives in Boulder, Colorado, and works as an assistant cross country coach at Niwot High School.
