CANNON TWP., Mich (WZZM) - Members of a local group are banding together to pay tribute to the victims of the September 11th attacks with a special display that opens next week.

Volunteers with West Michigan Healing Field and the Rockford Area Community Endowment will be displaying 3,200 American flags on the slopes at the Cannonsburg Ski Area.

Each flag will represent a victim of of the September 11th attacks in New York, the Pentagon, and Shanksburg, Pennsylvania.

The display will be open to the public, beginning Friday, September 9th through the 13th.

Cannonsburg is one of 16 other locations across the United States to hold the display. Name cards for the victims will accompany each flag, each displaying a small story about the person's life.
