Hot weather equals smokin' hot Track & Field team - RHS teams win Regional Division 1 Championships

It may have been blazing hot last Saturday at Grand Rapids' Houseman Field but it wasn't as hot as the performances turned in by the Varsity athletes, both boys and girls, of the Rockford High School's Track & Field teams.

The Rockford girls' team easily claimed title to their 14th consecutive Regional Championship. Talk about a dynasty! The Rockford girls eclipsed 2nd place runner-up Grand Haven. In scoring 170 combined points, the young lady-Rams came away with 98 more points than Grand Haven's combined total of 72 points.

Not to be denied their moment in the spotlight, the RHS boys' team also scored a Regional Championship with 126 combined points. The Grand Haven boys finished in 2nd place with 94.25 points.

Way to go Rams. With two more trophies to add to the high school's trophy cases, RHS may soon have to build a new wing to house them all!
