 1st Annual Chili Cook-off Benefit for North Kent Community Center Was Successful! 

ROCKFORD, MI  – With close to $800 raised for the North Kent Community Service Center, ChoiceOne Bank is pleased to announce its official sponsorship of the 1st Annual Fire and Ice Chili Cook-Off was a success. Over 500 chili enthusiasts attended the cook-off held at the Rockford Rotary Pavilion on February 9. The event was held in conjunction with the Rockford Ice Festival.

There is a challenge among three Snap Fitness Gyms in the area, and so far, Lowell has a significant lead. Here are the results.

Greenville 2.1 % lost
Belmont 1.24% lost

These percentages are based on the people who have weighed in weekly. The final weigh-in on Monday, February 25 from 9am-7pm.

The 9th Annual Rockford Community EXPO is now in the works! This is one of the most popular events in Rockford, with 1,000′s coming through the doors of Rockford High School to see what YOUR company does. This is a great way to “tell your story” to the community.

The event runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 and features cash giveaways, a chance to win a car, entertainment and plenty of information about our business community.

Booths fill up fast, with Chamber Members getting the ability for booth space first. Anyone can sign up now, but non-members will be entered on a first-come first-served basis after January 31, but sign up now to assure a spot! Cost for a booth is $125 for members and $200 for non-members.

2013 Dog Licenses available in Kent County.

Michigan law requires that all dogs four months of age or older be licensed.

A dog license is considered late if your animal is 5 months of age or older and you have owned the dog longer than 30 days. Dog licenses are discounted for senior citizens, and if your dog has been spayed or neutered (See fees here). To qualify for senior prices a person has to be 62 years old at the time of purchase and provide proof of age.

The fees through March 1, 2013 range from $6-26. After March 1, the costs of licenses doubles.

The public outside restrooms in Cannon Township are now open today, September 12, 2012 and open from 6am to 9pm daily.

The Health Department has not approved the water as of September 12th, so please do not use the tap water for drinking. The drinking fountains will be turned back on, when the water is approved by the Health Department.
