Rockford - are you ready for another contest? | Community Spirit
On the wings of last summer's improbable win in the nationwide America's Favorite Farmers Market contest, the Rockford community is being asked by the Rockford Historical Society to rally around their entry in the "Building Our Commuinity" contest.
Erhardt Construction, a prominent West Michigan construction company, is celebrating their 50th anniversary by awarding $50,000 in prizes to worthy non-profit groups. The top award is $45,000. That top prize would go a long, long way in defraying the costs of moving the Rockford Area Museum (RAM) from its current inadequate location to the much larger, now vacant, former 63rd District Courthouse.
The RAM is competing against some 60 worthy non-profits from Kent and Ottawa Counties.
Voting is to be conducted online in two rounds of voting. The first round to determine five finalists commenced Monday, June 18 and votes will be accepted daily until Friday, July 13. One vote per registered voter may be cast each and every day during Round 1.
To register and vote go to: http://www.erhardtcc.com/community/vote.php and simply follow the instructions.
The obvious key to winning is networking this contest with family, friends, co-workers, or any organization you may be affiliated with. Most important of all, the contest allows multiple votes by registered voters. Make it part of your daily routine to vote for this very worthy non-profit. Remember the RAM's mission is to keep the storied history of the Rockford community current and alive for future generations.
After all, this is Rockford, together we can do this.
