ROCKFORD, Mich.--  Get ready to fire up those grills, as the annual Grillapalooza returns to Rockford May 3.

Hosted by Herman’s Boy Coffee Ranch, the event begins at 10 a.m. and will feature grilling demonstrations, food samples and performances by a range of local artists.  This year’s Grillapalooza will showcase the Rockford Community orchestra, band and choir, the Rogue River Artists, the Rogue River Community Theatre Company, the North Kent Camera Club and the School of Rockford Ballet.  Visitors can also check out the Artist’s Market and enjoy family friendly activities organized by the Rogue River Artists Association.  Artists will be on site creating paintings and drawings for immediate sale.

A Big Green Egg Grill & Smoker donated by Herman’s Boy will be raffled off at 3 p.m., with all of the proceeds going to a new arts center in Rockford.  Organizers say they’ve already sold most of the 200 available raffle tickets.

“Opening and sustaining a new arts center facility makes fundraising even more important,” says Linda Humbert, executive director of the Rockford Area Arts Commission. "[We're] currently in the process of finalizing a lease to establish an arts center in the city, the arts council provides support for visual and performance arts. Facility plans include a gallery, classrooms, meeting and event space, and an office."

To purchase a raffle ticket, contact Humbert at (616) 560-7156 or email lhumbert0202@gmail.com  or visit Herman’s Boy Inc.
