Rockford kicker wowing CMU coaches

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (WZZM) -- True freshman Paul Mudgett rewrote the Rockford High School record book for kickers. Perhaps one day he'll do the same at Central Michigan University.

So far, the coaching staff has been impressed with Mudgett's leg during practices and head coach Dan Enos said this week Mudgett may earn the starting role as the team's placekicker.

Mudgett says his experience playing at a big time program like Rockford High School prepared him well for division one football. Mudgett and the Chippewas open the season September 2nd against Hampton University.
