5 Rockford students suspended for sexting

ROCKFORD, Mich. (WZZM) -- Five students from North Rockford Middle School have been suspended for sexting.

Rockford Public Schools Superintendent Michael Shibler says the students had taken photos of themselves partially-clothed. The photos were taken off school property and shared with other students.

Because the photos were then brought to school, administrators became aware of it on Thursday; parents were notified, and police were called in Friday.

Shibler says the facts are not yet complete and it's an ongoing investigation. He says there were more students involved, including students at the second middle school in town, and there will likely be more suspensions.
